NEUROMANCER

STATUS: Active Development
PRODUCER: Peter Hoffman
DIRECTOR: Joseph Kahn
CAST: Hayden Christensen
WRITER: William Gibson
Based on William Gibson’s seminal cyberpunk novel "Neuromancer". Case was the hottest computer cowboy cruising the information superhighway--jacking his consciousness into cyberspace, soaring through tactile lattices of data and logic, rustling encoded secrets for anyone with the money to buy his skills. Then he double-crossed the wrong people, who caught up with him in a big way--and burned the talent out of his brain, micron by micron. Banished from cyberspace, trapped in the meat of his physical body, Case courted death in the high-tech underworld. Until a shadowy conspiracy offered him a second chance--and a cure--for a price....

Why...why would they even try to adapt this? I can only see the movie version being horribly ruined by Joseph Kahn.

-A.

It would be a little more encouraging if the press release from 7artspictures.com could actually spell the name of the main character right. It's "Case" by the way. (see http://www.williamgibsonbooks.com/books/neuromancer.asp) It's going to suck itself into the emotionless void which is Hayden Christensen.

Not a good idea. I've tried to read the book, and never finished it... and thinking back at "Johnny Mnemonic", another (short) story by William Gibson which was turned into a movie and was more than bad... So nope, please don't film this one!

This could go either way... I hope they do something special for the soundtrack, like call in King Crimson or something. (KC guitarist Robert Fripp started work on a Neuromancer soundtrack back in the 80s, when there was an attempt to make the movie, but it didn't go anywhere.) The generic LA soundtrack would spoil it.

wtf is "Cage"
